Since 2015 ASSAM is involved in the European project FLOURISH “Aerial Data Collection and Analysis, and Automated Ground Intervention for Precision Farming” funded by the Horizon 2020 Programme. It concerns Precision Farming and aims at reducing the use of phytosanitary products in agriculture by means of automated weed control systems.

The FLOURISH partners together with the higher education institution “E. Pieralisi” and the Foundation for Practical Agriculture “Villa Salvati” organize an event on Precision Farming to illustrate the functions and applicability of the technologies developed within the project.

The different local and international meetings will be attended by national and international researchers, experts on precision farming and on agriculture applied robotic, potential end-users of the developed technologies as well as by students of the national agricultural high schools and other actors interested in the field.

May 7th - 11th

Since the beginning of the FLOURISH project partners’ will have been developing the single components of the robotic systems. In the integration week they will prepare, integrate and fine-tune, the technologies to be shown at the end–user evaluation on May 14th and at the public event on May. 15th  

May 10th – 11th

ASSAM in collaboration with the higher education institution “E. Pieralisi” and the Foundation for Practical Agriculture “Serafino Salvati”.will hold two training days on Precision Farming addressed to Agricultural higher education institutions.
Experts on precision farming and on agriculture applied robotic, will present their experiences to students, who will have the chance to attend the preparation and integration activities, carried out by partners during the integration week.

May 12th

By "La Sapienza" Rome University

The goal of this event is to provide a systematic evaluation of the performance of small UAVs in activities of the domain of precision farming in order to further develop them.
Two practical tests "3D mapping of the field" and "Inspect item on a tree" will be performed. The first one aims at evaluating the capability to generate a 3D map of a cultivated area including unknown and know objects. Whereas the second test will focus on the detection and inspection of a given object at close range.

Researchers and pilots willing to participate are required to register.

May 13th

By "La Sapienza" Rome University

This workshop of scientific and technical dissemination will draw a general framework of the results achieved by the Rome University within the FLOURISH project. Besides more specific themes will be handled to highlight technical and scientific challenges that arise in the deployment of small UAVs in agricultural practices, more specifically, in precision agriculture. The workshop will be held in English language.

May 14th

One of the main goal of the FLOURISH project is the evaluation of the developed robotic system by its potential end-users. The evaluation tools will be questionnaires and the methodology Business Model Canvas, involving a diversified group of 30 – 40 potential end-users, expert in several fields of precision farming. The different technologies of the entire system will be illustrated to them directly on the field.
The goad of the End – user evaluation is to receive a feedback on the functionality of the single components and on the real applicability of the entire robotic system. The evaluation results will not only assure partners about the improvements of the developed technologies but also fulfill some potential end-users’ practical needs.

May 15th

Project partners will publicly illustrate the FLOURISH project and its obtained results. Furthermore, different experts on precision farming will present their own experiences and competences. Finally, a practical field demonstration of the developed robotic system will close the day.
