Laboratory Analysis

The laboratory of the A.S.S.A.M. Regional Agrochemical Centre carries out microbiologic, chemical-physical and microscopic analysis on different food and environmental matrices to check the agro-food quality. It aims at selling and certifying products, processes and related quality labels and at typifying agro-food products.
The laboratory is in charge of accreditation tests on milk, honey olive oil and other products for human and animal consumption in compliance with the standard UNI CEI EN/ISO 17025 and it is entitled by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to issue analysis certificates on olive oils.

Product Certification and Traceability

The Operational Centre Control and Traceability Authority is responsible for the Quality and Traceability of agro food products.
The Public Control Authority (Italian acronym: APC) certifies those products characterized by regulated and voluntary quality labels.
The certification reliably attests the product’s compliance with a technical reference document, meaning that some product’s specific characteristics distinguish it from other similar products, thus assuring both consumers and producers.
Among European recognized labels, the APC is authorized/designed by the Ministry for Agricultural and Forestry Policies to monitor the following products’ certifications:

Sensory Analysis

Services for Truffle Growing

In 1981, due to the importance of truffle growing in Italy and in the Marche Region, the Truffle Growing Experimental Centre of Sant’Angelo in Vado (PU) was set up by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Marche Region. The location was chosen since the inventor of the modern Italian truffle growing, Mr. Mannozzi Torini used to work in the Forestry Nursery of Valmetauro, bordering the Centre.
The Centre aims at researching to increase the truffle production and exploit the natural truffle inheritance.

To improve the agro food sector operators and technicians’ professionalism and skills, ASSAM provides training and refresher courses to people, firms, public and private authorities. The covered issues are particularly focused on the technical and economic aspects to achieve the objectives of the Rural Development Plan (RDP).

This training function was assigned to ASSAM by an amendment to the Agency establishing Regional Law 28/2013, as knowledge transfer and innovation are key factors for gaining a completive advantage in the current dynamic market.

Vine Propagation Group

In the 70ties, to guarantee the grafted wine cuttings’ sanitary quality, the Vine Propagation Groups were nationally created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and regulated by specific growing regulations.
The vine premoltiplication of the Marche Region was preceded by a clonal and sanitary vine selection of the main regional ranging species. Therefore, compliant with the D.P.R. (President of the Republic’s Decree 1164/99) and the D.M. (Ministerial Decree 8 02 2005), the selected vine materials are marketed as "base" category.
