To improve the agro food sector operators and technicians’ professionalism and skills, ASSAM provides training and refresher courses to people, firms, public and private authorities. The covered issues are particularly focused on the technical and economic aspects to achieve the objectives of the Rural Development Plan (RDP) of the Marche Region.

This training function was assigned to ASSAM by an amendment to the Agency establishing Regional Law 28/2013, as knowledge transfer and innovation are key factors for competitive advantage in the current dynamic market.

In 2010 ASSAM was accredited as vocational training provider (Higher Education and Lifelong Learning).

Its training supply covers the five typical agro-food sectors as well new arisen innovation areas within the rural and agro-food regional framework.

All courses are in Italian language. A list of some of the offered courses:

  1. Annual practice course in olive tree pruning
  2. Practice course in fruit trees and grapevine pruning (occasional, on request)
  3. Annual Professional course for beekeepers (honey, royal jelly)
  4. Annual introduction and professional course in sensory analysis of honey
  5. Annual Professional course for the physiological eligibility for the tasting of Virgin Olive Oil
  6. Annual basic and advanced course in truffle growing
  7. Basic course in animal well-being in livestock farming (occasional, on request)
  8. Basic Course in social farming (Nature Pre-schools, active aging) (occasional, on request)
  9. Annual course for workers in educational farms - Fattoriaincontra
  10. Course in school gardens and urban horticulture - Ortoincontra - (occasional, on request)
  11. Basic Course in farm management and marketing (occasional, on request)
  12. Course for cheese factory workers (occasional, on request)
  13. Basic course in pork butchery (occasional, on request)
